Most Common Questions About All-On-4 DenturesHave you been wondering what the recent buzz with all-on-4 dentures is about? Well, you are not alone. A great percentage of both our walk in and call in customers call to ask about all-on-4 dentures and the mystery surrounding it. This article seeks to answer all the common questions and more. You are always welcome to call in if you have any more additional questions that have not been answered here.

What Are All-On-4 Dentures?

This question is well addressed in our last article on whether you should get one or not. However, simply put all-on-4 dentures are an orthodontic surgery that aims at replacing all the teeth on both jaws by anchoring them on at least 4 dental implants held on both gums.

What Are Some Of The Indications Of All-On-4 Dentures?

The major indication for this procedure is a total replacement of teeth that have been badly damaged following trauma, aging or gum disease. An individual who prefers a more natural looking set of teeth may also opt for all-on-4 dentures. The shorter procedure time and healing time are also added bonuses for anyone seeking teeth replacement options.

How Long Does the Procedure Take?

Ideally, the surgery should take no less than a few hours. It is however important to note that certain modifications may be made depending on an individual's gums, the anesthetic agent used, and the time the surgery began. This notwithstanding, the surgery is same day with recovery done at home with no need for in-patient care.

Can Anyone Do This Procedure?

Due to the seriousness and slightly invasive nature of the process, it is typically done by our dental surgeons who are well-versed and experienced in this field.

How Long Is The Recovery Period?

After the day of surgery, healing and complete recovery should ensue in about 3days to 2weeks on the higher end. With good post-op care, however you may soon be back on your feet within no time.

Are There Any Expected Side Effects To The Procedure?

It may take some time to get used to the new architecture of the oral cavity. Aside from this however, all-on-4 dentures are harmless and a great way to replace your teeth. Call us today for more info.
