 A broken tooth can be very painful and troublesome. Broken teeth are not like broken bones. There is no way for teeth to grow back naturally. As such, there are two options available to people who have suffered a broken tooth. It is possible to have the tooth fully extracted or to have it repaired using various dental techniques. We don't like to extract teeth when possible. Tooth extraction is only used in extreme cases of damage, and extraction hosts a lot of different problems. Tooth extraction may seem like the best method; however, teeth have many important roles. When you lose a tooth, you not only lose the ability to effectively eat food, but it can also do damage to the jawbone. What Happens Once A Tooth Or Teeth Are Removed?The jawbone follows the old adage, “Use it or lose it.” When a tooth is removed, the part of the jaw it was attached to begins to deteriorate because it's not in use anymore. This is a problem because the jaw plays a vital role in maintaining a good bite and keeping your teeth healthy. It also opens you up to have jaw fractures down the line. After a tooth is removed, the best course of action going forward is to install dental implants. Dental implants are effective at restoring the jaw and look of your mouth. However, they are very expensive to implement and have a chance of failure if not taken care of properly. Instead, we like to save teeth when possible.
